The Family Visit was commissioned by Connecticut Ballet Company and is inspired by real life events that took place in the Spring of 2020.
The dance narrative tells the story of a family visited by the mother's parents who's 2 week vacation turns into a 4 month visit, when news breaks out that there is a worldwide pandemic and nationwide lockdown.
Told in 6 scenes we see the effects the confinement has on each member of the family, their losses big and small, the blurring of boundaries and in spite of their individual struggles the power of coming together and remaining hopeful.
The Family Visit is dedicated to my dear friend Anh Tuyet Nguyen who passed from COVID-19 on April 7th 2020.
